About the "Angels" CD
I feel there are guardian angels all around us. Being aware of this since an early age has inspired me to write words and music as I listen to the angels from within, the messengers of God. Hence the new cd "Angels". The CD includes all original songs of lessons I have been learning since being aware of their messages.
The first song, angel #1, identifies each angel around me personally. The second song, "Look Through the Lens of Love", for what you see in others you have in yourself, was the lesson. "In the Silence of my Soul" comes from deep meditation of seeing more of my past, present and future. "Of all the Earthly Music", these are the words of a poet, Henry Ellery Channing that inspired the music. I hope you feel the music matches the beautiful words.
There is a song that was written entitled, "Where is the Love?" and another entitled, "Looking for Love in all the Wrong Places". I wanted to express, "Where the Love is". This original song expresses to me and I hope to others to look within for the love inside each of us. The beautiful accompaniment of the musicians and vocalists on this one is a magical expression of love, at least to my ears.
After visiting a doctor for a physical check-up and having him tell me I had a devastating disease, I didn't believe him. It did give me an "iffy" feeling though. So i wrote the song, "I am Music in my Soul". One phrase in the song says, "I am sunshine in my life, I am living, every day's a brand new day." It helped to take the doubt away and I'm fine.
A wonderful friend whom I met in Puerto Rico for the first time was Micheline Lopez Brierre. She wrote a wonderfully beautiful poem that inspired me to write music to "Inner Strength". When I met Micheline it was like I already knew her. It must have been a past life experience and we've stayed friends in this lifetime for many years. One phrase about patience in the poem says, "It grows as a tree that remembers the weed." I love it !
"In the Rhythm of the Universe" was one of the first songs that I put music to the words I was hearing in my head. It helped me open up to a bigger picture of life. I wasn't just Joan Jay living in Los Alamitos, Ca. , going to the grocery store and raising my kids, but a soul living in two worlds at one time, the physical and the spiritual and more aware of feeling the rhythms and routines of the universe. "The Wisdom of the Ages" was written about reincarnation. In reality we're all related as our souls pass many times around and round. I hope you gain the feeling that there is no death and that life goes on. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We are eternal.
Love, Peace & Harmony,
Joanie Jay
